Chapter 01

什麼是FLPT？

「外語能力測驗」( Foreign Language Proficiency Test，簡稱FLPT) 於1965年開辦，是台灣第一套可以測試英、日、法、德、西五種語言的外語能力考試。

開辦初期受政府機構委託作為赴美受訓人員的外語能力檢測機制；之後因應社會轉變及經濟發展需求，開放個人報考；由於兼具公平性與準確性，廣受公民營機構採認與信賴。

2011年配合教育部第二外語政策推出「第二外語能力測驗（基礎級）」(Second Foreign Language Proficiency Test-Basic，簡稱二外測驗/SFLPT-Basic)，是專為台灣日、法、德、西語初學者特別研發的測驗。

2023年起因應第二外語向下深耕，SFLPT-Basic納入至FLPT，以利歐日語學習者循序漸進評量學習成果。

三大特色
❶ 包含英、日、法、德及西五種語言；不限年齡，對於外語學習有興趣者皆可報考。
❷ 對照國際通用語言標準CEFR，檢測範圍涵蓋初學者至高級程度（CEFR Pre-A1～C1）。

Overview

About FLPT

The Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT) is a norm-referenced test which measures test takers’ general language proficiency accurately and consistently. It is available in five languages: English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish. It has been used by more than 400 public and private institutions.

Test Features
● The FLPT is available in English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish.
● The test is suitable for language learners at all levels, ranging from beginners to advanced levels (CEFR Pre-A1–C1).
● Question types, test specifications, number of questions, and scoring criteria are the same for all languages.
● Test components can be chosen freely. The options include a paper-based test, speaking, and writing (English only). The entire test can be completed within a single day.
● The certificate offers the flexibility of combining scores from different test dates within a two-year period.

Test Information
🚩Test dates: 4 test sessions per year
🚩Test venues: Taipei, Taichung & Kaohsiung/Tainan
🚩How to register: Online registration (Institutional registration also available)
🚩Test results:
Score reports for the paper-based tests will be mailed 15 working days after the test date.
Score reports for all tests (including Speaking or Writing Test) will be mailed 20 working days after the test date.
